I've had this watch for a while now and there is a dearth of information on it so I thought I would write a review for those who are interested.
Mine is numbered in the 300's of 1000 so I imagine there are 1000 pieces of each model.
My overall opinion of the "Anchar" is excellent. It's a big watch but even with my small - medium wrist (7") it wears well. The all black face on this model probably helps reduce the visual size of the watch. The PVD coating is great and the PVD models come with the engraved/etched caseback in PVD (I hadn't seen pictures of the rear of the PVD model so I wasn't sure until I received it).
The tritium tube lighting is very well done; no need to charge it, it's always on. The 12, 3, 6 and 9 markers are yellow, while the other indices are green. The hour and minute hands have tritium tubes while the sweep hand and bezel dot are Super(?) Luminova. The bezel has 60 clicks and turns solidly. The bezel itself has excellent grip and it works easily with a gloved hand as well.
The contrasting colour on the bezel is silver (I thought it may be white based on the photos). The face is uncluttered and I think it lends itself to a "tool" watch.
I'm not a "purist" with regard to movements. I'm quite happy to have this NH25A powering my watch. I take it for granted that it's Japanese made and reliable.
Unless I'm missing something there is no seconds hack so I can't critique it's accuracy other than to say that I haven't noticed it losing or gaining significant amounts.
The rubber strap is comfortable and seems durable. I like the "Vostok Europe" embossing as it adds a nice touch. The included leather strap is very solid and beefy in keeping with the watch itself. The white stitching, despite my initial impression, looks quite nice; but I will be wearing it with the rubber strap for the foreseeable future.
The quality of hardcase and interior material is better in person than it appears in photos. It includes the two (identical) tools necessary to change the strap.
I haven't had this watch in the pool or ocean yet but I can't imagine any problems swimming or diving with it and it may just be my go to diver's watch.
The watch shipped within the prescribed two days and arrived well packed and included a print out test report. I also received my pre selected "free gift" in perfect condition.
This is an attractive and unique watch, nice hands with the anchor ends, nice PVD, nice integrated strap, crown at the 2 o'clock, tritium, great packaging; I really don't think I could be happier with a $500-$600 watch.
For the record, I'm in no way affiliated with Russia2all or Vostok Europe; just a person who likes watches and a happy customer.
If any weaknesses in this watch appear over the coming months I will try to update the review. Thanks.
